Roberto has held various strategic leadership and staff roles at all levels. He was responsible for all strategic networks of the Canadian Army and the Department of National Defence, signals intelligence, strategic cyber policy, as well as engineering and programme management of the Canadian Army’s C4ISR system.

He served at the U.S. Cyber Command as Deputy Director for Strategic Policy, Plans, Force Development, and Training. He has chaired numerous multinational engineering, security, interoperability and standardization programs within NATO, AUSCANNZUKUS and related military, government and commercial forums.
